It has been narrated by Dr. ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Abdil-Muhsin at-Tuwayjiree:
I cannot forget this incident when I took our noble brother ‘Abdul-Kareem al-Miqrin (presenter on the Qur.aan radio station) to account, when I asked him: Why is it that when you introduce the Shaykh on the radio programmes such as “Noor ‘alad-Darb”, “Su.aal ‘alal-Haatif” and “Tafseer Aayaat al-Ahkaam” – you do not mention that he is a member of the Council of Senior Scholars – since that is the highest designation of the Shaykh?
So he said: Indeed, the Shaykh absolutely disapproved of it; Some of the scholars and the students of knowledge even tried to convince him, but he refused.
