Does your chest not tighten when someone to whom you have done good does not know you?

Intending solely for the Sake of Allaah
Perhaps a small deed will be magnified [in its reward] by its intention, and perhaps a large deed will be diminished [in its reward] by its intention.
Don’t concern yourself with them
Indeed, you are unable to please all of the people, so rectify that which is between you and Allaah and don’t concern yourself with [what] the people [may think or say].
Sincerity to Allaah alone
Everything [we do] by which sincerity to Allaah [alone] is not intended will disappear (be worthless).
In pursuit of humility
He was self-deprecating, and would not deem himself [to be much].
in shaa.-Allaah they have been forgiven by Allaah
If it were not that I was amongst them (this group of righteous men), I would have said [in shaa.-Allaah] they have been forgiven [by Allaah].
Humbling and belittling oneself
Yoosuf ibn al-Husayn was an imaam of his time. There was no-one from the scholars like him in terms of humbling and belittling himself.
More beloved to me than this world and all that is in it
For me to know that Allaah has accepted from me [a good deed equivalent to] the weight of a grain, is more beloved to me than this world and all that is in it.
How many times have you lied?
I only [ever] lied once. ‘Umar asked me about a garment, [and] how much I got it for. So I [lied and] dropped its price by two thirds.
The mere sight of him would evoke others to remember Allaah
And it was said that he was called a monk due to his worship and excellence.
