The greatest gift for the parents
Some children give their parents gifts, and this is nice, and being good to them, and [a show of] affection [to them] – may Allaah reward them with good.
Gifting the reward of reading the Qur.aan to the deceased
Is it permissible to read a soorah from the Qur.aan with the intention that its reward be [destined] for the deceased? And how would that be?
O Allaah forgive whomsoever oppressed me
Oh Abaa Sa’eed, indeed I heard you supplicating this night for the ones who oppressed you, until I wished to be amongst them. What led you to do this?
Intending solely for the Sake of Allaah
Perhaps a small deed will be magnified [in its reward] by its intention, and perhaps a large deed will be diminished [in its reward] by its intention.
The scholar and the one who learns will be partners in reward
Learn, for indeed the scholar and the one who learns will be partners in reward.
Feed 500 people during Ramadhaan
Hammaad ibn Abee Sulaymaan would feed five hundred people during Ramadhaan, and after ‘Eed [al-Fitr] he would give 100 dirhams to each one.
Women visiting the graveyard
My mother died when I was in my infancy, and now I visit her in the graveyard; Is that permissible for me [to do]? And what supplication is it [that I make to Allaah and its benefit] will reach her, and what reward will [Allaah permit to] reach her?
So that you may attain a reward similar to that of mine
Go and get me [some] water or dried dates to break my fast with, so that you may attain a reward similar to that of mine.
Treat everyone equally
…ever since I have come to know the truth during my youth I have called/invited to it, and I remain patient at whatever befalls me in that regard.
