Every night, Wakee’ ibn al-Jarraah would not sleep until he had read a third of the Qur.aan. Then, during the last [third] of the night he would stand in prayer and recite the al-Mufassal. He would then sit and engage in seeking forgiveness (al-istighfaar) until the arrival of Fajr.

Reading beneficial books during hajj
During these days, is it legislated to read some books specialising in fiqh and tafseer, or should we limit ourselves to [just] reading the Qur.aan?

I was with al-Junayd when death was approaching him, and he completed [reciting] the Qur.aan, then began [reciting] Soorah al-Baqarah – reciting seventy aayahs before he died.

Is it permissible for a man or a woman to recite the Qur.aan or touch the mus.haf without [being in a state of] wudhoo?
