I went out with my father and we came to Madeenah. Maalik ibn Anas then sent us a plate of fresh dates. So he (my father) then placed 1,000 deenaars and returned it (the plate) to him.

Upright moral character
So is [what I heard about] this dream correct?And he replied: Yes, other than that I do not now remember whether he (as-Sa’dee) said ‘taqwaa of Allaah’ or ‘upright moral character’.
The excellence of the scholar

Close your eyes
If a woman passes [before] you, then close your eyes until she has passed by.
Such a look will cause desire in the heart
Do not allow your eyes to look at a woman’s garment, for indeed such a look will cause desire in the heart.
Lower our gazes
‘Indeed, the first thing we shall start with on this day of ours is to lower our gazes.’
How many beautiful women did you look at today?
‘Woe be to you! I did not look at anything other than my two thumbs from the moment I left [home], until I returned back [home] to you.’
Men are of three types
So he who knows himself to be upon evil, then it is befitting for his fear and apprehension to predominate his hope and anticipation.
So what did you do with that which you knew?
Certainly, that which I fear the most is when I stand [before my Lord] to account [for my deeds], and it is [then] said to me: You had knowledge, so what did you do with that which you knew?
