The sign of one’s love of Allaah
The sign of [one’s] love of Allaah is the plentiful remembrance of Him, for indeed you do not love anything except that you remember it alot.
The best of all acts of worship
Extending prayers and salutations upon the Prophet is the best of [all] acts of worship, because Allaah (Ta’aala) Himself has done so and [so too have] His angels…
You will not be disappointed
[For] every supplication you make to your Lord, you will not be disappointed…
On the occasion of the middle ten days of Ramadhaan
[O] noble Shaykh, what are your words [of advice] as we welcome the middle ten days of the blessed [month] of Ramadhaan?
Sincerity to Allaah alone
Everything [we do] by which sincerity to Allaah [alone] is not intended will disappear (be worthless).
Only two hours of sleep
During [every] day and night, Ibn ‘Ataa would [only] sleep for two hours.
Eating your fill weakens your ability to worship
I have not eaten my fill for 16 years, except on one occasion; and [on that occasion] I placed my hand in my mouth and induced myself to vomit.
The importance of Kitaab at-Tawheed
It is not sufficient to read ‘Kitaab at-Tawheed’ [just] once, rather it is befitting that you always read it; [so] every time you finish it, start [reading] it again, just as I do so myself.
