[From] good [upright and moral] character is to select [deeds of] virtue and abandon [deeds of] vice.

Always intend good
‘O my son, [always] intend good, for indeed you shall remain upon good so long as you intend good’
He must remedy this harm
So whoever commits [a deed] which Allaah and His Messenger have forbidden, has harmed his religion; and he must remedy this harm by repentance and turning back [from this misdeed].
Men are of three types
So he who knows himself to be upon evil, then it is befitting for his fear and apprehension to predominate his hope and anticipation.
So what did you do with that which you knew?
Certainly, that which I fear the most is when I stand [before my Lord] to account [for my deeds], and it is [then] said to me: You had knowledge, so what did you do with that which you knew?
Seeking knowledge with a sincere intention
We do not know of anything better than seeking knowledge with [a sincere] intention [for the sake of Allaah].
