Allaah (‘Azza wa Jall) blessed me and my brothers to embrace the religion of Islaam; and [so] my question is: What are the rights of non-Muslim parents upon their Muslim children?

Whoever hears of an innovation
Whoever hears of an innovation, then he must not relate it to his companions; he must not relay it [out of fear it may settle] in their hearts.
My brother does not pray
I have a brother who does not pray, and I have advised him to pray and explained to him that whoever abandons the prayer is a disbeliever. However, he does not accept my advice, yet continues to eat, drink and live with us – so what is the ruling [regarding that] in this situation?
Should you remember me, then supplicate for me

Whoever restricts ties of brotherhood to only those without [any] fault[s], will have few friends…
Concern and attention for one’s sins
The concern and attention the servant [of Allaah] has for his sins, motivates [him] to abandon them. And his remorse over them is the key to repentance. And, the servant [of Allaah] maintains [this] concern and attention for the sins which he is afflicted by until [his concern and attention] becomes more beneficial for him than some of his good deeds.
They would divide the night into three
al-Hasan ibn Saalih, his brother and their mother used to divide the night into three parts, each would stand their third in prayer. So when their mother died, they divided the night in two parts, and when [his brother] ‘Alee died, Hasan stood the entire night in prayer.
Talking about the secrets of your brother
Indeed [it is considered] from deceit to talk about the secret[s] of your brother.
Give your brother an excuse
Maybe there is an excuse for my brother which I do not know of.
