For every thing there is a sign, and the sign of failure is to abandon crying [out of the fear of Allaah].

[From] amongst them, [‘Abdullaah] Ibn ‘Own was the one who had the most control over his tongue.

[How] sad is [the state of] the son of Aadam; lifting rocks is easier for him than to abandon sins.

O my son, indeed the people will abandon the one who [unduly] increases [the amount of knowledge he relays to them].

I have never seen Wakee’ with a book in his hands, rather, he memorised. So I asked him about the remedy for memorising.
