عن عبداللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ رضي الله عنه قال: "إِذَا سَمِعْتَ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَأَرْعِهَا سَمْعَكَ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرٌ يَأْمُرُ بِهِ أَوْ شَرٌّ يَنْهَى عَنْهُ".

‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhu) said:
When you hear Allaah say: {O you who believe…}, then listen attentively, for it is either a good thing that you are commanded with, or a bad thing that you are forbidden from.
