Abu Dharr (radhi-yAllaahu ‘anhu) said:
My close friend [Muhammad] ﷺ prescribed me with [the following] seven:
1) That I love the poor, and remain close to them;
2) That I look at those [in society] who are less privileged than me;
3) That I do not ask (beg) anyone for anything;
4) That I maintain kinship ties, even if they (relatives) turn away (don’t want to maintain ties);
5) That I speak the truth, even if it is bitter;
6) That I do not fear, for the sake of Allaah, the blame of the blamers;
7) That I frequently say:
« لا حول و لا قوة إلا بالله »
«There is no might nor power except with Allaah»
…for indeed it is from the treasure below the ‘Arsh [of Allaah].
