Just a short time ago, Fatwa-Online was informed of the official decision and announcement of the High Judiciary Council (HJC) of Saudi Arabia regarding the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah.
1 Dhul-Hijjah will be on Sunday 12 August 2018, and the Muslims performing Hajj will be in ‘Arafah on Monday 20 August 2018 (9 Dhul-Hijjah 1439), and we shall be celebrating ‘Eed al-Adhaa on Tuesday 21 August 2018, (10 Dhul-Hijjah 1439), in shaa.-Allaah.
IMPORTANTLY: If you intend to offer the Qurbani | ‘Eed Sacrifice, then be sure to refrain from cutting your hair and nails from the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah until the slaughter is complete. Should you wish to offer the Qurbani | ‘Eed Sacrifice, then you can do so here.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ also said:
Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen was asked: What is the correct opinion regarding the sacrifice [of ‘Eed al-Adh.haa]? The Shaykh responded:
Shaykh Saalih al-Fowzaan was asked: Is it permissible to pay the price of [having] the [udhiyah] sacrifice [carried out], or is it better to [personally] undertake the [udhiyah] sacrifice and take some of [the meat]? The Shaykh responded:
