The truly content one
The [truly] content [one] is he whose sins die with him.
‘So I turn my gaze away from her’
I see a woman in a dream, and know she is not permissible for me, so I turn my gaze away from her.
The pleasure of food
Indeed one will not find pleasure of food when ill, so how will he find pleasure in worship whilst sinning?
Seeking forgiveness aplenty
Never has a slave [of Allaah] had a better neighbour in his grave than [the reward of having] plentifully sought forgiveness.
Concern and attention for one’s sins
The concern and attention the servant [of Allaah] has for his sins, motivates [him] to abandon them. And his remorse over them is the key to repentance. And, the servant [of Allaah] maintains [this] concern and attention for the sins which he is afflicted by until [his concern and attention] becomes more beneficial for him than some of his good deeds.
The weepers shall weep
Indeed, the people of the Fire [of Hell] shall be weeping in the Fire [of Hell, so much so] that if ships were set to sail upon their tears, they would sail.
Not taking sins lightly
Likewise sins which are treated as being minor and for which the person is taken to account will destroy him.
If sins had an odour
If sins had an odour then nobody would be able to sit with me.
I am amazed at the people who take care of themselves
I am amazed at the people who take care of themselves by eating food out of fear of dying, yet do not protect themselves from sins out of fear of the Fire.
