When Ahmad ibn Harb would sit before the barber to have his moustache trimmed, he would engage in the glorification of Allaah. So the barber would say to him: Can you just shutup for a while! And he would respond: You just do your job [and leave me to my remembrance of Allaah].

Acting in accordance
No hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ has ever reached me, except that I have acted according to (practiced) it – even if only once.
Ready and waiting for the prayer inside the masjid
Apart from when I have been ill or travelling, for the last forty years, never has the muadh.dhin ever made the call for the zhuhr prayer except that I have been [ready and waiting for the prayer] inside the masjid.
Giving that which you love in charity
Feed him with sugar for ar-Rabee’ loves sugar.
In remembrance of Allaah
al-Buwaytee was always moving his lips in remembrance of Allaah.
Giving with one’s own hands
I saw ‘Alee ibn al-Hussayn give [charity] to the poor and needy with his own hands.
The night prayer
I am not aware that my father ever missed the night prayer.
I would think he was ill
Never did I see him pray, except that I would think he was ill.
Knowledge which does not benefit
‘Abdul-A’laa said to me: Certainly he who has been given knowledge which does not cause him to weep, then it is feared he has not been given knowledge which benefits him.
That which is befitting for a man
It is befitting for a man who hears something from the manner of the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ, that he holds firm to it.
