I have not seen a better prayer
From amongst the group of our scholars, I have not seen a better prayer than that of Muhammad ibn Hamdoon.
He was always praying
Never did we visit Abu ash-Shaykh [al-Asbahaanee], except that he was in prayer.
An exemplary companion
[What] an exemplary companion is the Deenaar and the Dirham; They are of no benefit to you until they leave you [i.e. you spend them on that which earns Allaah’s Pleasure].
Humble and appreciative
If Khaleel ibn Ahmad al-Furaahaydee benefited someone with something, he would not let it be known that he benefited him…
He did not make a single mistake
One of the teachers at the Jam’iyyah Tahfeeth al-Qur.aan al-Kareem in Madeenah recited from the beginning of Soorah al-Baqarah to the end of Soorah al-‘Israa.
Standing in prayer or sitting in remembrance
I never came across Ibraaheem ibn Hammaad except that I found him [either] standing in prayer or sitting in [the] remembrance [of Allaah].
Never turning away a seeker of charity
I came across communities who would encourage their families never to turn away [empty handed] a seeker [of charity].
The remembrance of Allaah is of two types
The remembrance with the tongue, and that is good and beautiful, and…
It is now my responsibility
What is the matter with you (what makes you cry)?
