Addressing the Prophet ﷺ
There does not occur in the Qur.aan an address of “O Muhammad”, rather [there is] “O Prophet” and “O Messenger”…
People are of three types
Either he accepts the truth and adheres to it – then he is a wise person…
People who do not eat chicken
Abu Moosaa al-Ash’aree was eating chicken for lunch, and amongst the people was a man who was sitting, so Abu Moosaa called him over [to join him] for lunch…
Therein is sufficiency
If a person were to [carefully] ponder over the Qur.aan, then therein is [sufficiency in] what will refute every innovator’s innovation.
Hajj and ‘Umrah on behalf of another
[Performing] Hajj or ‘Umrah on behalf of another is [to be] done in three situations…
Beware of being amazed with yourself!
And many of the intellectuals become atheists because of their intellect, and [as a result he] looks upon others as despicable, and sees others as nothing worthy of note…
In the absence of your brother
In the absence of your brother, make mention of him with what you [yourself] would like to be remembered with, and do not make mention of him with what you [yourself] would not like to be mentioned of yourself.
Even if his knowledge is a lot
The jurist (الفقيه) is one who fears Allaah, even if his knowledge is little.
What of those who fall into obscene acts and major sins?!
So what [can be said] of those who fall into obscene acts and major sins?!
