Remain steadfast and pursue the path
Some students of knowledge have a weakness [in their ability] to memorise, and the weakness may be severe.
Calling out to someone
The one whose name is not known should not be called out to by ‘Mohammed’. Rather, he should be called out to by ‘Abdullaah’.
Being patient during hardship
This is how the believers must be at all times; patient during hardship, and upholding the truth until there comes to them relief (ease) from Allaah سبحانه و تعالى.
The act of the despicable
Do not convey to your friend that which will hurt him and not benefit him to know, [for indeed] this is the act of the despicable.
Compassion in Islaam
It is befitting that a person pay attention to the hearts of the people. So if a person’s heart is broken, then he should strive to mend it as much as he is able, because doing so is a great deed…
Reflect on what we want to share before sharing
If there is a dispute between two parties, it is wrong and sinful to share with either party what the other has said, because it may increase the division and dispute between them.
A warning against being preoccupied with the faults of others
From the people are those who preoccupy themselves with the faults of others, and forget their own faults.
A scholar encouraging others to benefit from him
If I knew anyone was more knowledgeable of the Book of Allaah than me – and was reachable by camel (i.e. a camel’s journey away), then I would certainly have travelled to him [to seek knowledge].
Beware of indulging in the pursuit of comfort and luxury
So the more the people increase in [comfort and] luxury, the more they open up before the people, [and as a result] the more evils open up before them.
