I am a youth, and have been afflicted with [committing] a sin, and every time I repent [to Allaah] from it, I go back to doing it; I [just] want to be free of it, [so] if I were to do it again, is it permissible for me to undertake an oath that I shall fast a day for the Sake of Allaah, or give in charity so [as a result of which] He will safeguard me from doing it again?

The cure for masturbation
I have become afflicted with the [evil] habit of masturbation, [so] I ask you about the cure for it; [as] I am addicted to watching films of a prohibited nature. Do guide me [to salvation from this evil habit], and may Allaah bless you?

If a person has harshness and cruelty in his heart [towards others], then what can soften his heart from this harshness and cruelty?

When does [the legislated time for] the bath of the day of jumu’ah begin; does it begin [after maghrib] the previous night, or after the fajr prayer, or [is it] after sunrise?
