قال العلامة ابن باز رحمه الله:
" فأخوك من نصحك وذكرك ونبهك، وليس أخوك من غفل عنك وأعرض عنك وجاملك، ولكن أخاك في الحقيقة هو الذي ينصحك والذي يعظك ويذكرك، يدعوك إلى الله، يبين لك طريق النجاة حتى تسلكه، ويحذرك من طريق الهلاك، ويبين لك سوء عاقبته حتى تجتنبه ".

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (rahima-hullaah) said:
So your brother is the one who [sincerely] advises you, reminds you, and warns you [against pursuing the path to desctruction].
And Your brother is not the one who neglects you, or avoids you, and [just] flatters you. Instead, your brother in reality is the one who advises you, the one who preaches to you, and reminds you.
He calls you to [the Path of] Allaah, and explains to you the path of salvation until you pursue it, and warns you against the path of destruction – and explains to you the harmful consequences [of pursuing it] until you avoid it.
